The Restorative Justice 11th Annual Reentry Conference Resource and Job Fair on Friday September 8, 2023, brings together not only important issues of discussions but opportunities for all (formerly incarcerated, families with loves incarcerated, as well as crime survivors). 

 For example, on Friday, September 8, 2023, you will be able to: 

 1. Receive resources and support for you to submit petitions under SB 731 record sealing expungement to clean your records. Californians For Safety & Justice & San Francisco Public Defender's Office are joining and setting up a Record Cleaning Clinic. 

2.Attend an interactive empowerment session to enhance your skills with top notch experienced professionals in the field of 2nd chance employment reintegration, offered by Goodwill San Francisco Bay.

3. Get a job! Imagine meeting 50 employers ready to hire you and networking with 75 non-profit organizations offering other resources!

Launch your career in tech with Goodwill SF Bay and Dev/Mission's IT Pre-Apprenticeship Program!

Get hands-on experience and industry-recognized certifications in IT fundamentals, discover the basics of programming, and more. Our experienced instructors and industry experts will guide you every step of the way as you work on real-world projects and build your portfolio. Plus, access our network of industry partners for internship and job opportunities. All backgrounds and experience levels welcome

 

 

Program details:

  • The program will be conducted on-site, in-person and will have a duration of 12 weeks.

  • Students between the ages of 18 and 29 are eligible

  • Orientation: May 22 or May 23 (mandatory)

  • Class dates: June 5 – August 11

  • Time: Mondays to Thursdays, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Checkr.org Apprenticeship Program

Applications open for Checkr.org Apprenticeship Program today through Friday, May 26. We will have five apprenticeship positions total, one in each of the following teams: Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, People (HR), and Talent (Recruiting). 

 

During this 12-month program, Apprentices will receive full time pay and benefits. Apprentices will balance on-the-job training and learning through structured coursework. Each Apprentice will be provided internal mentors as well as access to professional external coaching. 

 

There is no experience required for this apprenticeship program. We invite all candidates to apply who demonstrate Checkr’s values of grit, transparency, humility, connection, and ownership and who meet the eligibility requirements listed in the job descriptions. For the purpose of this program and pilot, we have narrowed the program eligibility to individuals who have been released from incarceration in the past three years or who have suffered a felony conviction in the past three years. 

 

This will be a hybrid program based out of our San Francisco office. We will require that Apprentices come into the office every day for the first month of onboarding. After that, Apprentices will always have the option to come in every day, but will only be required to come into the office a couple times a week.

LSPC/AOUON-Cisco Networking Academy can help you start learning today. In the Cisco Networking Academy program, they are in the business of bridging possibilities in Education, Careers and Beyond! All courses are FREE!

SF Green Construction Training Program

The Green Construction Training (GCT) project is an intensive 400-hour construction training bootcamp, that integrates hard skills training in green construction and related trades with life skills training, academics, intensive case management, wraparound services, career coaching, and job placement and retention services. Students graduate with basic skills in ten trades and earn five industry-recognized certifications, enabling graduates to secure jobs at 1 to 3 levels above entry-level pay grades.A cornerstone of the GCT is its safe, supportive community.Students learn effective communication, teamwork, anger management, problem solving, interviewing, and other life skills.

2023 (Spring) APSC Formerly Incarcerated Internship Program Application


The mission of APSC is to provide direct support to Asian and Pacific Islander (API) prisoners and to raise awareness about the growing number of APIs being imprisoned, detained, and deported. APSC is an equal opportunity employer. Women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, immigrants and qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records are encouraged to apply.

We are looking to hire and develop (four) formerly incarcerated community members to participate in our fourth Formerly Incarcerated Internship cohort.

These intern positions will introduce formerly incarcerated community members to the workforce, engage interns in APSC programs, and develop further skills that foster leadership.

*** SCHEDULE ***

Approximately 10 hours per week for 13 weeks (130 hours for duration of internship). Timeline may be adjusted based on the project status and scheduling needs.
Compensation: $25.00/hour
Primary Location: Our work is based in Oakland but remote internship(s) may be considered.

Start date: Monday, January 30th
End date: Tentatively Monday, April 23rd

Intern meetings: Mondays
Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm PST

     - Correspond and provide resources to currently incarcerated people
     - Provide administrative support for mail
     - Research current resources for currently incarcerated people

Storytelling/Art projects:

      - Create a in-prison newsletter to be distributed to those incarcerated
      - Create a monthly newsletter for APSC supporters
      - Assist with project coordination for creative projects
